frodei helps you plan shopping, compare prices, capture spends and bills, and optimise your budget. This page explains what we collect, why, who handles it, and how you can delete it.

📋What we collect
- Account: a sign-in managed by Google Firebase. You can start without an email; if you secure your account we store your email address and a password (handled by Firebase, never visible to us).
- Profile: the name, country and optional phone or email you add, and your chosen currency.
- Your lists: items, quantities, stores, dates, prices, categories, payments and recurring payments, budgets, chat messages and the names of the people in a list.
- Spend alerts (optional, Android only): if you switch this on and allow the SMS permission, frodei looks only at new incoming texts that look like a payment you made. This happens on your phone. Texts that are not payments are dropped and never saved. A detected payment alert is kept in a private list on your phone for 7 days, with account and card numbers, reference numbers and balances masked, so you can still add one you swiped away. Nothing from your texts leaves your phone unless you tap Add, and then only the amount, shop, date and how you paid are saved to your list.
- Photos and documents you choose to scan: bill photos, order screenshots and credit card statements, read by AI to pull out items and amounts.
- Voice: when you talk to Kaia, your phone’s speech recognition turns your voice into text; the text is read by AI to build your list.
- Price comparison: only the product name and your city are sent.
- Push notification token so we can send chat and reminder notifications.
🎯Why we use it
To run the app: keep your lists in sync between the people you invite, show your spending and budgets, send reminders, compare prices, and produce the suggestions in the Planning Optimizer Engine (POE) and Spend Optimizer Engine (SOE), including the AI money plan. They only suggest; you decide.
🤝Who handles it
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, Hosting) stores and serves your data. It is encrypted in transit, and Google encrypts it at rest.
- Anthropic processes the AI requests above (bill and statement reading, voice-to-list, the AI money plan and price lookups). For the AI money plan only spending totals are sent, not names, bills or photos. Bill photos and statements are read and not kept by frodei; the extracted statement result is held for up to 3 days so a dropped connection can be recovered, then removed.
- Expo delivers push notifications.
People you invite to a list can see what is in that list, including what you add.

🗑️Deleting your data
In the app: Menu → Account → Delete account & data. This removes your profile, your sign-in, the lists only you belong to, your saved statement information and the spend alerts on your phone. In lists you share with others, you are removed as a member and your chat messages and name are deleted; the entries you added stay for the other members without your name. You can also request deletion from this site: frodei.com/delete-account.
🎛️Your choices
You can turn Spend alerts off, revoke the SMS, microphone, camera or notification permissions in your phone’s settings, or delete your account at any time. Android is the only platform where frodei can read payment texts.

frodei is not directed at children under 13.
